New quilts

In early '08, I cut my work hours in half, and this June in half, again. The result is, I have plenty of time on my hands. If you know me, you know I read a lot, and I can't see increasing that, so this June, I took up quilting. I've been having a great deal of fun quilting. I'm definitely learning as I go, lots to learn.

This quilt is a four patch, I love how colorful it is. I've been jazzing up the backs of my quilts, too.

This quilt is a disappearing nine patch. It's very colorful, too.

I've discovered I love the quilt designing and assembly, but not the actual quilting. I've been having that done by a long-arm quilter, an expert; after that is done, I do the binding.

  1. They are beautiful Jan, that is a good idea about having someone do the actual quilting and you do the design. I think I could handle that, I would love to try sometime. My youngest daughter quilted me a fall runner for my B.day a few years ago and I adore it. Such a nice keepsake.

  2. Thanks, Jan. Give it a try, I'm sure your daughter will, bail you out, if needed.
