Bits and Pieces

This is just an odd assortment of bits.

We had 27 voice mails when we got home from our two week vacation.  The most interesting one was from a gal at the Murrieta Senior Center.  She asked if I'd give a presentation on Parkinson's Disease and Tai Chi.  I did a bit of research before I called her back.  It seems that Tai Chi is one of the best activities for people with mild to moderate Parkinson's.  No one in my Tai Chi class, in the 10+ years I've been teaching, has developed Parkinson's; we've been really lucky.  I found out that Tai Chi is better for them than stretching or resistance training.  She's scheduled me for the end of September, so I have plenty of time to prepare.

Traveling on the tour bus was a unique experience for me.  Here I was with 51 other people, rolling down the highway.  We were the only family of four; there was one father and adult daughter, one grandpa and grandson, two father and sons; there were two women traveling independently and three men traveling alone.  There were six married couples; a widower and his adult son, two sisters, one from IL and one from TX; the rest were 2 or 3 men traveling together, some related, some not, on a trip of their lifetime.

We didn't have a lot of time in most of the cities we visited, but I was really surprised at Pittsburgh, I really liked it.  The city was beautiful, with great architecture.  I can see visiting Pittsburgh as a tourist.

The lighting isn't great in this photo, be here we are at PNC Park.  It was a good one.  In fact they all were great with the exception of Fenway.  It was historic, but not great.

We became Boston Red Sox fans.  There fans are RABID, just like Dodger fans.  We felt right at home.

I really liked these fan's T's.

Here's Oden with Cy Young's statue in Boston.  See how he really doesn't smile, just grins, like I said in my last post.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing my life with me,
