Monday Book Give Away. #20

This is another chance to read a book before it's publication date. One Amazing Thing by Chitra Divakaruni will be published on 2/2/10. I love this book and I hope you will too. (The cover will be different.)

From the publisher, Hyperion Books:

When an earthquake rips through the afternoon lull, trapping these nine characters together, their focus first jolts to their collective struggle to survive. There's little food. The office begins to flood. Then, at a moment when the psychological and emotional stress seems nearly too much for them to bear, the young graduate student suggests that each tell a personal tale, "one amazing thing" from their lives, which they have never told anyone before. And as their surprising stories of romance, marriage, family, political upheaval, and self- discovery unfold against the urgency of their life-or-death circumstances, the novel proves the transcendent power of stories and the meaningfulness of human expression itself.

If you're interested, leave a comment. I will keep the comments open until Sunday afternoon and then announce the winner on Monday morning when I offer a new book. The winner will chosen by either the Random-Number-Generator or Bob. This week I asked him to choose a number between 1 and 7. He said, "Okay", and nothing else. He thought it was a guessing game. After I told him I needed to know the number, he asked "What for?"!

The winner of last week's book, The Grift is SewCalGal; she's always keeping everyone informed about the latest giveaways, here.

  2. I agree with Anne at Film and Thread, by the looks of the forcast around here...good book reading days ahead. You are always so generous and I am certianly one who appreciates that. You have read over a hundred books in one year. I have a goal just to finish the ones that are in the pile by by bedside. Added two more Christmas morning. Plus Michael and I are reading The 39Clues. When am I ever going to have time to quilt? Muct come up with a daily schedule.....Thanks again for the give away and happy new year!@

  11. I'm interested. Maybe you remember, I can't remember, but did I win a book form you named Lost and Found? Not sure if I got it through a swap or one of your giveaways, but I loved it! I had it sitting on my shelf almost a year before I read it but once I started I finished in about a week. Loved it!!
