String Quilt

When I decided to start quilting, in June, I bought a great fat quater pack; I just knew I'd find something to make out of it. Then I saw this great tutorial here, about making a string quilt, and decided what to use it for. I found a couple more fabrics to co-ordinate and one for the backing, and set about make my first string quilt. It was a lot of fun.

As you can see, I'm still on a learning curve. I still like the way it turned out and I love the fabrics.

I used a different long-arm quilter for this one, and I wasn't happy with her work. I may be a beginner, but I have my standards.

These are some of the "steps" for making a String Quilt.

  1. I am so impressed. I have always wanted to try paper piecing but never gave it a try. The quilt looks great. And the instructions are so easy to understand. Guess I am just going to have to give it a whirl.
