Dudley

Dudley is 14, he's been our dog for 11 years.  Bob and I are his third owners.  He's a great boy, and lots of fun.

Last night, when Bob was taking him for his evening walk, Dudley collapsed.  Bob scooped him up and carried him home.  Dudley was panting and clearly in distress.

Last night and this morning, he was able to move and walk a bit but preferred to stay in one place.  Over the past 6 months, Dudley has had some really bad days, but 90% have been really good days.  We knew his time was coming and today we decided to stop his pain.  These things are never easy but we never let an animal suffer.

Bob had an appointment at the Hematologist in San Diego, today.  I usually go with him but I stayed behind to see to Dudley.  It's a sad day, today.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing my life with me,

  3. I'm so very sorry, Janice and Bob. We love our pets so much it hurts, don't we. I always carry a cell phone and never go far when I walk Ranger, only in the neighborhood because I fear something similar happening and he's too big to carry.

  4. Oh Jan, I'm so sorry. That's the hardest decision even when you know it's the right thing. I wish Bob was with you today, such a hard thing especially alone. Thinking of you.
