Thru the Canal

After 2 days at sea, our first port of call was Cartagena, Colombia.  It was a beautiful city.

The passage thru the Panama Canal was fascinating.

These photos were taken thru windows of the cruise ship.
Below you can see two ships on different levels.  Both lanes of the canal, were  going
West; but both can be used in either direction.

Looking down from the 12th deck you can barely see the water, our ship, the NCL Pearl,
only had 6 inches clearance on each side.

These people seemed to enjoy relaxing and watching all the ships sail by.

Right now, the Panama Canal Authority is constructing a new, third set of locks.
We were also told they're considering a cruise ship dock in Lake Gatun, which would be great.

Thanks for stopping by, we enjoyed having you,
