Fun Monday

Gattina is hosting FM, this week and she wants to see our umbrellas. Be sure to visit her, if you want to play along, or just see what other bloggers from around the world, Gatinna lives in Belgium, post in this show and tell challenge.

Do you use an umbrella against the rain or too much sunshine ? Even if you don't you certainly have at least one in your house I suppose. Take a picture and show us the one or once you use (or not).

Here, in Southern California, we don't use umbrellas much. We just had a great rainy season, but I pretty much managed to dash between raindrops, without the use of an umbrella. Don't get me wrong, we have plenty of umbrellas, we like umbrellas, strange as it may seem, but they're mostly dust collectors. Above is our umbrella stand, it resides in the garage. In addition to umbrellas and a cane, it holds some Fall yard decor.

Below is one of my favorite umbrellas, opened under yesterday's blue sky. The fabric matched an old Crabtree & Evelyn fragrance, Veranda. I bought it when I was managing one of their stores.

Funny thing, on Sunday we had an earthquake, today, Monday, it's drizzling.

P.S. if you're a reader, I'm giving two books away this week. Just refresh the blog, to see the give away, or go here.

  1. I've been enjoying the patterned umbrellas - I like yours! It's quite subtle and not garish. You should see the smiley face one at Mama Drama! It's cute but very garish...

I've decided that I need to invest in some interesting umbrellas!

  2. oh pretty.... it would keep the sun from making brown spots on my face. (not that the ones already there wouldn't mind the company, sigh.)
